Universal Mix

This Universal Mix, being a blend of compost, perlite, vermiculite and coco peat, will provide your chosen plants with good drainage, aeration, and water retention. While not all substrates are the same or provide all needs to all plants, this general, multi-purpose blend can be used for a variety of different plants.

Important Considerations:

• Soil type: The specific ingredients and proportions may need to be adjusted based on the type of plants you are growing and the specific needs of those plants;
• Water retention: Peat moss and coconut coir retain more water than perlite or vermiculite, so consider this when choosing this mix;
• Fertiliser: Adding fertiliser to your mix can provide essential nutrients for your plants. You may wish to add this to your mix before potting up or transferring your plants over to this substrate.

We mix all substrates by hand to ensure quality control and the provision of premium products.
