Why should I use Growth Technology Silica?

I'm glad you asked. GT Silica is a mineral additive used to optimise plant health, strength and vitality.

I own quite a few variegated Monsteras and Philodendrons and to help mitigate browning on their leaves, I add GT Silica to GT Foliage Focus once a month during Summer and Spring.

What makes this additive a great addition to your routine?

It has many benefits, including:

• The strengthening of your plants' cell walls;
• It helps boost your plant's resistance to fungal and insect attacks;
• It increases chlorophyll production;
• Aids in photosynthesis and enhances CO2 uptake; and
• It improves stress resistance.

How do I use it?

• For hydro and semi-hydro, add 5mls per 1 litre of water and apply to your plants.
• For plants in a soil mix or if you use my Chunky Aroid Mix, Anthurium Mix, Hoya Mix, and Calathea & Maranta Mix:

1. 1. Mix 2-3mls per 1 litre of water. Add GT Silica to plain water, stir thoroughly then rest for 15 minutes,
   2. Add nutrient to this solution (e.g. Foliage Focus), stir thoroughly then rest for another 15 minutes, and
   3. Test and adjust pH to 5.5-6.5.

How often should I use GT Silica?

In order to get the most out of GT Silica, it can be used every time you water. By using it each time, you will help your plants to develop sturdy cell walls which will in turn, make them better equipped to handle environmental stress. This will help the also to grown stronger over time.

In addition to structural benefits, GT Silica supports better nutrient absorption, helps maintain variegation in plants and aids in the prevention of brown spots.
